Floor restoration for schools in Croydon

School floors take a pounding: PE lessons, assemblies, lunch sittings and after-school clubs, every single day. Worn lacquer, faded lines and loose blocks are not just unsightly - they can become a safety issue. We restore school floors across Croydon so they are safe, smart and ready for the new term.

Our school services

  • Full sanding and refinishing of sports halls, assembly halls and classrooms

  • Slip-resistant sports lacquers suited to PE and games

  • Re-applying badminton, netball, basketball and other court markings

  • Repairs to loose parquet and damaged boards

Working in the holidays

Most of our school work is booked into the holidays, and the summer fills up quickly. Curing time for the lacquer is built into the plan, so the hall is ready when term starts. Small areas can often be completed over a weekend.

Safety, RAMS and insurance

Every school project includes full RAMS, COSHH data for our finishes and our £5m public liability insurance certificate. We follow your site rules, sign in and out and keep work areas secured.

Restoration vs replacement

Original school floors are often high-quality hardwood that simply cannot be bought at the same price today. A restoration is far cheaper than a replacement and much quicker to complete. It is also the greener option, keeping good timber in use. We provide a clear, fixed quote that fits school budgeting and procurement processes.

Between restorations

A simple maintenance plan keeps a school floor in good condition for years. Barrier mats, pH-neutral cleaners and periodic re-coats all extend the life of the finish. We give your site team written guidance after every job.

Related services

School work is part of our wider public spaces service. Between full restorations, re-coating the lacquer keeps the hall protected for longer. Damaged parquet is put right with our parquet repair service. Have a look at our recent projects.

FAQ

Questions about floor restoration services for schools

All questions
Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?

We provide risk assessments, method statements and insurance details before work begins. Our team is used to working on occupied sites with strict safety rules.

When can I walk on the floor again?

Light foot traffic in socks is usually fine after a few hours. Furniture can go back after 24–48 hours, and rugs are best left off for around a week while the finish fully cures.

Do you guarantee your work?

Our floor restoration comes with a 3-month service guarantee. If something is not right with our workmanship during those three months, we come back and put it right. Gap filling is excluded, because wooden floors move with the seasons — see our service guarantee for the full terms.

Can you work during school holidays?

We regularly work during holidays, evenings and weekends. Most halls are finished in a few days, so the space is back in use quickly.

Do you do court lines on hall floors?

Yes. After sanding we apply a slip-resistant sports lacquer and can repaint court markings for badminton, netball and other games between coats so they are sealed in. Read more about our school floor restoration.

Do you carry insurance?

Yes, we carry £5m public liability insurance. Certificates are available on request, which facilities managers and landlords often need before work starts.

Great advice on staining
